| Summary | The Department of Justice published a notice of proposed rulemaking in the Federal Register on May 21, 2024, which proposed to transfer marijuana from schedule I of the Controlled Substances Act to schedule III. Upon further review, DEA is withdrawing the notice of hearing and terminating the pending hearing proceedings.
